Interactions within a foreign domain influence both the works and the perceptions that are constructed. Implications of movement are routed from the direct social effects in journeys that have been taken. The combinations of different societies and their histories have rooted an interest in my travels. The physical interaction in a foreign environment has transformed the Minimalist-based works into representations of ideas that have been absorbed through contemplation into other societies. The landscape through which I interact allows ideas to materialize, creating a sense of isolation and an excursion into the unknown. In the constant change of a globalized world, a lost identity seems to be taking place. The concept of interaction, a two way effect that each has on the other, applies to the interactions of environments that influence my work. Symbolism is used to connect the viewer to the work. Incorporation of symbols from thoughts are brought into the sculpture, especially from the new perceptions of the world through my own identity. Throughout these explorations, certain concepts of isolation, interaction and perceptions have come under investigation through my own actions in dissimilar environments.
